On June 25, Leads Biolabs announced that its joint venture with Aditum Bio, Oblenio Bio, has successfully completed an oversubscribed $62 million Series B financing round. The round was led by Pfizer Ventures, with participation from Deep Track Capital, GV, and founding investor Aditum Bio. The proceeds will provide significant support for the clinical development of its lead asset, LBL-051.

LBL-051 is the only pipeline asset of Oblenio Bio and is a trispecific CD19/BCMA/CD3 T-cell engager antibody. Built on Leads Biolabs’ proprietary LeadsBody platform, the molecule is designed to simultaneously target multiple key immune pathways, enabling broader depletion of pathogenic B cells and plasma cells. It holds the potential to deliver a novel “immune reset” therapeutic approach for severe autoimmune diseases.

In preclinical studies, LBL-051 demonstrated strong efficacy in non-human primate models. Stepwise dosing achieved complete depletion of B cells and plasma cells in both peripheral blood and tissues, followed by the regeneration of immature, non-memory B cells during the recovery phase—suggesting the potential for durable, treatment-free remission. Importantly, the therapy showed no signs of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) even at high exposure levels. In addition, peripheral immunoglobulin levels decreased in a dose-dependent manner, consistent with its plasma cell–depleting mechanism.

These preclinical findings were presented at the 2026 European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR 2026) and have supported the program’s accelerated progression toward clinical trials.

Following the financing, Dr. Xiaoqiang Kang, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Leads Biolabs, will join the Oblenio Bio Board as an observer, further strengthening strategic collaboration between the two parties. As the originating company of LBL-051, Leads Biolabs will continue to provide technical support and is entitled to milestone payments and royalty participation from the global development and commercialization of the asset.
