ADICON and Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals Join Forces to Advance ICL + CRO Innovation
10 June 2026
On June 3, Shanghai Jince, a wholly owned subsidiary of ADICON, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals in Beijing. The two parties will collaborate on innovative drug clinical research and testing services, leveraging their respective strengths in metabolic disease R&D, central laboratory services and CRO capabilities to explore more efficient and standardized laboratory solutions for clinical studies. The partnership also represents an important step in the implementation of ADICON’s “ICL + CRO” dual-engine strategy.
Shanghai Jince has been active in the central laboratory sector since 2008 and holds both CAP accreditation and ISO 15189 certification. To date, it has completed central laboratory services for more than 1,000 clinical trials and supported the market launch of dozens of new drugs. In recent years, ADICON has continued to expand its CRO capabilities by partnering with Guardant Health in precision oncology testing and strategically acquiring Crown Bioscience to strengthen its preclinical CRO services. Through these initiatives, ADICON has gradually established an integrated service platform covering preclinical research, clinical trials and central laboratory services.
Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals has long focused on metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, while also exploring therapeutic areas including immunology and oncology. The company has built an end-to-end system covering early-stage research, clinical development, commercial manufacturing and global sales, with multiple innovative drug candidates currently in clinical development. Meanwhile, Shanghai Jince has participated in nearly 40 diabetes drug development projects and supported the launch of 19 products, covering major drug categories such as insulin, GLP-1 therapies and SGLT-2 inhibitors. The two companies therefore have strong synergies in the field of metabolic diseases.
Under the partnership, Shanghai Jince will provide Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals with end-to-end services ranging from study design consultation and sample management to laboratory testing and data delivery. It will also support clinical research on innovative therapies such as GLP-1 receptor agonists based on Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals’ R&D needs.
The collaboration is expected to further improve the quality, compliance and delivery efficiency of clinical trial data, while also reflecting the ongoing shift of China’s innovative drug R&D service ecosystem toward greater specialization, platform-based capabilities and full-value-chain integration.
